Rules

The following rules help to ensure Riyala is a safe and enjoyable place for all campers and our wild residents.

Out of bounds

Private residences

Riyala grounds include some private residences. These are located down the driveway past the kitchen. There is no unauthorised vehicle or pedestrian access past the kitchen. You may see some of our Riyala residents coming and going during your stay. Give them a big wave and say hello.

Septic system

Riyala uses an underground septic system located immediately behind the ablution block. This area is out of bounds.

Vehicles

Parking

All visitors must park outside the front gate. You are permitted to drive into the site to drop off gear and people. As there is limited space, please do not leave vehicles parked inside the gate. Please remain on driveways where ever possible.

Speed limit

Please drive slowly on site. We have a 10km per hour speed limit. Please watch out for children and wildlife while driving on site.

Camping

You are free to camp in the gardened area. There are a number of private spots behind mature gardens away from the common areas. Please observe any areas marked off as out of bounds.

Tents

Tents, pergolas, ground sheets and mats can be used during your stay to enjoy the shady areas or provide more shade. We ask that any heavy material placed on the ground is regularly moved to ensure the health of the lawns. Mats, tents and ground sheets must be moved every 3 days.

Vehicles

Please drive carefully on the grassed areas and avoid any waterlogged areas during the wet season. A limited number of caravan and camper trailer spaces are available with access along the western property fence line. Please ask site managers for directions to these spaces and let us know how many to expect during your booking.

Pets

In order to protect the abundant native wildlife calling Riyala home, dogs and cats are not permitted.

Please advise us if any guests have a service dog which we’re happy to support.

Damage and breakages

Please ensure everything is in good condition when you arrive. Please report any broken items including lights on checking the facilities upon arrival. This will provide an incoming report and anything not reported will be considered working when you arrived.

You are responsible for any damage caused during your visit, that is not considered general wear and tear by Riyala. Cost of replacement or repair will be taken from the deposit, and additional funds added to your invoice if required. You are required to report any broken items to the site managers
